The Tullow community schools u17 boys soccer team won the south east Leinster league last week defeating colaiste Mhuire Johnstown by the smallest of margins when Keelan Byrnes goal was enough for them to hold on for victory.
Tullow went into the game as favourites having beaten the Kilkenny side easily in the league but the final was to be much tougher with very little chances. The winning goal came just before the halfway mark when quick thinking from Jack O Neill saw him take a quick free quick while the wall was setting up in rolled the ball through to keelan Byrne who smashed home from class range.
Tullow now go on to represent the region in the Leinster champions league quarter final where they will play the winners of the Dublin metropolitan league after the mid term.
